What's available

We know you miss us, and we miss you too!

We appreciate your patience as our services continue to evolve to meet the ongoing health and safety needs of everyone during the pandemic. We encourage you to take advantage of all the ways that we are available to serve you, and if you have any questions please call or email!

What's Available in Step 3?

Library hours: Monday-Thursday, 10am-8pm | Friday-Saturday, 10am-4pm

As of July 16th, we've entered Step 3 of the provincial reopening plan. In this stage, the library will be open to 75 visitors at a time. Those visiting the library must follow public health guidelines including wearing a face covering, staying 2 meters from others, sanitizing or washing hands, and staying home if sick. Curbside service will remain available during regular hours until July 31. And, the MakerSpace is available by appointment.

Is it safe to borrow library materials?

The safety of our customers and our staff is our highest concern. We are taking precautions to ensure that the items on our shelves and any items returned to us are safe to be handled. 

If you are feeling unwell or if any member of your household is sick or in isolation, we ask that you refrain from borrowing library materials.

Can I borrow items from other area Libraries?

Yes! You can borrow materials from our PCIN partner libraries by placing a hold online or calling us. 

Our InterLibrary Loan (ILLO) is also available to borrow material in other Ontario libraries. 

How do I return my library items?

The library book drop is now open and materials can be returned any time.  Library fines will not be charged on overdue materials until further notice. 

How are you ensuring the safety of customers and staff?

With the delivery of curbside and additional in-person services, the health and safety of our staff and our customers is our top priority.

Here are the measures we are taking:

  • All SPL staff have Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are trained in their proper use
  • Physical distancing protocols are in place
  • Regular cleaning, disinfecting, and handwashing protocols are in place
